Xiaomi’s next major system update is already beginning to surface in early leaks. A new HyperOS 4 Launcher build has reportedly appeared online, offering the first glimpse of Xiaomi’s revamped home-screen experience and its upcoming Liquid Glass design language. The leaked version is RELEASE-7.00.11.5075-05181729-R and as per current reports, it is only supported on HyperOS 3.3 at this point.
The origin of this leaked launcher is not confirmed, but the build is believed to be from early-stage HyperOS 4 development. The biggest change comes in the long-press home-screen menu. Leaked screenshots show a revamped floating panel with darker circular icons, glass-like blur effects, and more generous spacing for core options like Wallpaper, Wallpaper Effects, Widgets, and Home Screen Settings.

Here your most recently used apps will be shown at the top, followed by the rest alphabetically. And for even greater convenience, you can also sort your apps by category.
New app animations and bounce effects spotted
The leaked launcher also introduces notable animation enhancements. App opening and closing transitions now appear smoother and more dynamic compared to previous HyperOS iterations. Xiaomi is said to have incorporated a new bounce effect during these transitions, which lends the interface a more fluid and responsive feel.
This bounce-style motion is especially apparent when returning to the home screen or switching between apps. The effect aligns closely with Xiaomi’s new Liquid Glass design philosophy, giving HyperOS 4 a more contemporary visual identity that echoes the premium animation systems found on flagship operating systems.
New Liquid Glass design appears early
The leaked launcher clearly showcases Xiaomi’s forthcoming HyperOS 4 Liquid Glass visual style. However, because HyperOS 3.3 does not yet fully include the required system-level resources and repositories needed for this new interface, the design does not appear to function perfectly on current builds.
This means users should not treat the leaked launcher as a reliable representation of the final HyperOS 4 experience. Several visual effects, animations, transparency layers, or blur behavior may appear broken or incomplete when the APK is installed on HyperOS 3.3.
Launcher may be rebuilt with Rust support
Perhaps the most intriguing detail is the “-R” suffix appended to the version name. XiaomiTime previously reported that Xiaomi is actively expanding its use of Rust and Flutter across HyperOS 4. Rust support has already begun appearing with HyperOS 3.1, and HyperOS 4 is expected to build on that foundation by extending it to a broader range of system apps.
The leaked launcher’s “-R” ending could indicate that this particular build is tied to Xiaomi’s Rust-based development track. If that proves accurate, the launcher might be one of the first major system components to benefit from Xiaomi’s revamped software architecture.

As with any Android launcher you can add widgets and resize them to better fit your screen layout. You also have the ability to change the grid size thru the launcher, switching between 4x6 and 5x6 arrangements, and edit the transition effects to your liking.
Choose the theme you like the best
You can also switch between light and dark themes in the launcher. The system color is used by default but you can change it later. Alternatively, you can change the wallpaper from the launcher settings directly.
