Exit 8 is a trap for your mind. Inspired by the eerie emptiness of Japanese subway tunnels, the unsettling familiarity of liminal spaces, and the endless dread of backrooms, this walking simulator plays with your perception.
The rules are simple:
- Look at everything - look carefully. Walls, floor, ceiling. Does anything seem out of place? A door that wasn’t there before? A flicker in the light that lasts too long?
- If you see something wrong, turn back - irregularities are your warning. A missing poster. A door that opens into darkness. A sound that has no source. When you see a sound, don't hesitate - go the other way.
- If nothing is wrong, keep going - the exit is real. But the only way out is forward… until the tunnel decides otherwise.
Sounds easy?
It isn't.
The illusion of Repetition
At first, everything looks the same. The same marks. The same cracks in the wall. The same thunder. But the more you walk, the more your mind starts to doubt.
- Was that door always slightly open?
- Did that poster change?
- Why does the air feel thicker now?
