After a 14‑year hiatus, KONAMI has finally released a brand‑new mainline entry in the beloved Suikoden series. Suikoden STAR LEAP went live on August 7, 2026, for iOS and Android devices in Japan, adopting a free‑to‑play with optional in‑app purchases model.

Story Setting: Solar Year 453
The game takes place in Solar Year 453, which is four years prior to the events of the very first Suikoden. A lakeside village east of the Scarlet Moon Empire is suddenly attacked by mysterious foes; homes are set ablaze, and villagers flee for their lives. In the aftermath, the hero, along with three companions—Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur—vows to rebuild their home. Yet their journey soon sweeps them into the great currents of history.
Classic characters such as Viktor, Flik, and Odessa also make appearances, their fates intertwining with the new hero’s path.
